Flow Boiling and Condensation of Mixtures in Microscale

Queen Mary is one of the top research-led universities in the UK and it was ranked 9th among the UK multi-faculty universities in the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014).

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in the Condensation Heat Transfer Group within the field of heat transfer research in the School of Engineering and Materials Science. The work is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The successful applicant should have a PhD in the area of Thermal Engineering. They will contribute to the experimental, theoretical and computational study of Condensation of Mixtures in Microchannels. The project will involve careful and very accurate measurements for condensation of various fluid mixtures in parallel Microchannels, together with analysis and development of the relevant theory. The work is particularly relevant to refrigeration and air conditioning and experience in this area is desirable.

This full-time post is funded for a period of 3 years with a salary of £35,672 - £39,745 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, a defined benefits pension scheme and an interest–free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
