UCLA Collaboratory Fellowship Program : Los Angeles, CA, United States

UCLA Collaboratory Fellowship Program

The Collaboratory Fellowship program (http://qcb.ucla.edu/collaboratory/) is a prestigious funding mechanism available to postdocs conducting research in computational biology and bioinformatics. Administered through the Institute of Quantitative & Computational Biosciences (QCB) at UCLA, Collaboratory postdoctoral fellowships are awarded to a select group of young scientists who have expert bioinformatics skills, a track record in collaboration and mentoring, and an aptitude and interest in developing further teaching experience. The fellowship responsibilities are designed to provide career development opportunities that are complementary to those of their host laboratory, namely in developing a collaborative network and broadening research impact and training; and also in developing a track-record in teaching. Fellowship awards now range from partial to full support, and are made for a renewable one-year period.

Both intramural and extramural candidates may be recruited to the Collaboratory:

1) Intramural candidates: A computational postdoc or research scientist who is currently working in a lab at UCLA may apply and specify his or her current lab and research program.
2) Extramural candidates: A postdoc or research scientist who is not currently working in a lab at UCLA, but would like to join one or more UCLA labs, will apply directly to the Collaboratory and specify his or her research interest and preferred host labs. The Collaboratory will serve as a liaison between promising candidates and potential host labs. A list of participating labs and their projects may be found at http://qcb.ucla.edu/collaboratory/lab-projects/

The application deadline is May 1, 2016.

To Apply e-mail all of the following to mail to:collaboratory@lifesci.ucla.edu:
