Postdoc: Neuroscience at Rutgers University
Molecular Mechanisms and Neural Circuits of Memory and Behavior:
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Gleb Shumyatsky at Rutgers University.
The successful applicant will study the structure and function of the amygdala- and hippocampus-associated neural circuits using various transgenic and molecular/cell biology tools. We are interested in the molecular mechanisms and neural circuits controlling memory, learned fear, anxiety, social behavior as well as autism- and depressive-like behaviors in a mouse.
Our recent work found previously unrecognized role of microtubule dynamics in synaptic transport, synaptic plasticity and memory (Uchida et al., Nature Communications 2014).
The successful candidate has to have a recent PhD in molecular biology or neuroscience and a track record of first class science demonstrated by first author peer-reviewed scientific articles. Previous experience in behavioral analysis is preferred
Rutgers is located in central New Jersey, one hour away from New York City and Philadelphia, and enjoys a diverse international academic and cultural community.
