We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the group of Dr Paula da Fonseca. We are studying the structure and function of protein complexes primarily by high resolution cryo-EM based methods.

The work will focus on determining the high resolution structure of proteasome complexes and to use that information, combined with data from protein biochemistry and other biophysical methods, to describe the detailed proteasomal functional mechanisms. We are looking for highly enthusiastic and motivated candidates with relevant experience in structural biology of protein complexes, particularly structural electron microscopy. The project benefits from the state-of-the-art cryo-EM and computational facilities within theMRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.

The position is available immediately. The successful candidate will be awarded an MRC Career Development Fellowship/MRC Postdoctoral Training Scheme, for a three year period. This is a training and development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
