A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), Seattle, WA. Responsibilities

The successful applicant will work primarily on statistical methods development for research related to the use of biomarkers and surrogate endpoints in cancer and HIV AIDS. Data collected by the HIV Vaccine Trial Network (HVTN) studies and the cancer Early Detection and Research Network (EDRN) will be used as a basis for the methodological works. The applicant will also have the opportunity to carry out collaborative projects relevant for biomarker evaluation to present and publish research results.

Qualifications

PhD degree in biostatistics/statistics; strong theoretical background and programming skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strong independent problem solving skills. Excellence in R is required. Proficiency in C/C++ a plus. Experience with missing data methods, variable selection, biomarker evaluation, high-dimensional data methods, causal inference, survival analysis, or clinical study design a plus.
