A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University, in the Earls laboratory. Our lab is interested in age-dependent cellular and molecular mechanisms of cognition in the normal and disease brain. We are focused on microRNAs and their effects on intracellular Calcium in the maturing brian. We use a combination of genetics, electrophysiology, molecular biology and biochemistry to study pathways implicated in the 22q11 Deletion Syndrome and schizophrenia. The successful candidate should have a Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent and be prepared to start work by September 2015. Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Physiology, experience with either slice electrophysiology or extensive RNA biology, and rodent experience. Candidates with molecular biology training who wish to learn physiology or vice versa may find this an excellent opportunity to expand their skillset.
