US Postdoctoral research associate positions for African neonatal sepsis and postinfectious hydrocephalus project.

Postdoctoral Research Associate positions immediately available for exceptional individuals to participate in an NIH Director's Pioneer Awardproject under Dr. Steven Schiff (http://www.esm.psu.edu/schiff) at Penn State University investigating neonatal sepsis and postinfectious hydrocephalus in sub-Saharan Africa. Candidates will be selected from those with excellent: molecular biology laboratory skills, microbial diagnostics, high throughput sequencing for microorganism identification of bacteria and viruses, bioinformatics, and modeling and control of infectious diseases. Candidates will contribute to coordination of research activities between Penn State campuses at University Park (Drs Schiff and Poss) and Medical School (Dr. Broach). A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, and publication track record in that field, is essential. Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize complex data, and effectively supervise technical staff and students is required.
