英国伦敦国王学院招聘免疫生物学方向博士后助理研究员

This post is a unique opportunity to gain in sight into a high-profile international phenotyping project. The successful candidate will join the 3i project, a team supervised by Prof Adrian Hayday which is conducting a high-throughput immunological phenotyping of approximately 800-1000 knockout mouse lines generated by the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (WTSI). The phenotyping involves the analysis of different organs by flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy. The team is formed of two postdocs and two research assistants who are performing a primary screen as well as secondary follow-up experiments on selected lines. All generated data will be open access and available to the scientific community.

The post is based in the Department of Immunobiology in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at the Guy's Campus.

Details

This maternity cover is suited for an enthusiastic research assistant or a PhD candidate looking to obtain organisational and project management skills before embarking on an industry or management career.

The successful candidate should hold a BSc or MSc or equivalent in biomedical sciences. Experience in immunological research multi-colour flow cytometry and/or confocal microscopy is heighly desirable. Due to the nature of the project, we are looking for somebody who enjoys working in a team, working towards a common goal and meeting the team’s deadlines. Good time management, organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. Beyond the experience of working in an international phenotyping project, the position also offers opportunities to develop skills in work flow design, quality management and supply management. The successful candidate will be required to prepare and to work with animal tissues and cells. Since samples will be generated all year round, a core activity will need to be maintained within the team during holiday periods.
