Postdoc and PhD/MSc studentship are available in the Department of Applied Chemistry at National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.
The research in Prof. Kwok-Kong Tony Mong’s Lab focus on the synthesis of biologically relevant oligosaccharides, glycoconjugates isolated from cell wall of bacteria, and natural glycosylated products.

Job description:
i. Development of new methodology for C- and O-glycoside formation
ii. Development of new synthetic routes to unavailable glycosides and their application thereof
iii. Synthesis of natural glycoconjugates and polyketide natural products for biological studies

Qualifications:
i. Proficient in Spoken and written English.
ii. Good performance in course works relating to organic, synthetic, and stereo- chemistry
iii. Motivated, independent (for post-doctoral), disciplinary, and responsible character preferred
iv. Experience on multi-step and/or carbohydrate synthesis is a plus for postdoctoral application.

Employment conditions:
A competitive salary (for postdoctoral fellow) and scholarship (for PhD/MSc candidates) would be given to selected candidates.
Contract type for postdoctoral fellow: (i) 12 months (starting from August 1st 2015 to July 31st 2016), with possibility for extension depending on performance; (ii) traveling expense (round trip air-ticket) will be refunded after completion of the contract; (iii) medical and dental insurance are provided ; and (iv) annual bonus is available.
For PhD/MSc candidates offers a competitive stipend, tuition waiver, medical and dental insurance, and dormitory. Additional scholarship for participation of international conference is available.
