Two postdoctoral positions in Heterogeneous Catalysis : Gothenburg, Sweden 

Full-time temporary employment. The positions are limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).

Description

Information about the project: These two projects are focusing on heterogeneous catalysis for cleaning emissions from vehicles and both positions will be in collaboration with industry (OEM). The first position will focus on experimental studies. Kinetic modelling is also possible, but not a requirement. The research will involve a combination of different experimental techniques regarding catalyst synthesis, catalyst characterization, as well as activity experiments. The activity and selectivity of the catalysts will be measured with flow reactors. In addition, the catalysts will be characterized by many experimental techniques, like BET, XRD, TPR, SEM-EDX. Heat of adsorption will be measured with micro-calorimetry and surface species detected with DRIFT spectroscopy. The position will involve reporting current research results in both written and oral form as well as authoring scientific research publications. The second position has a large focus on kinetic modelling, but also detailed experiments is required in order to receive input for the modelling. Different catalysts will be synthesised, characterized and the activity and selectivity will be detected. The understanding of the surface mechanisms from the detailed experiments will be used as a base for developing kinetic models for the catalytic processes. The position will involve reporting current research results in both written and oral form as well as authoring scientific research publications.
