The Translational Neuromodulation Laboratory (TNL) in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher. The TNL develops novel implantable/wearable neural interface technologies to restore sensorimotor function following paralysis. The TNLintegrates expertise spanning engineering, systems neuroscience and neurosurgery. The successful candidate will be a member of Penn's new Center for Neuroengineering and Therapeuticshttp with significant collaborative and corporate exposure opportunities.

The lab has approved protocols involving simulation/numerical analysis, rodent models, nonhuman primate models, and human clinical trials. Our lab is run jointly by expert neuroengineers (Dr. Drew Richardson) and neurosurgeons (Dr. Tim Lucas).

Qualifications – Ideal candidates will have completed their Ph.D. and have experience in nonhuman primate sensorimotor systems. Additional preferred qualifications include nonhuman primate training and handling, proficiency in programming and modeling, signal analysis, and excellent communication skills.
