Job Description

A well-funded research lab in the Department of Neuro-Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (which has been continuously ranked as the number 1 cancer center in the US for many years) is seeking individuals at the postdoctoral level to join an outstanding team of scientists dedicated to understand the biological and molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigensis and to identify novel approaches/medicine to treat cancer. The ongoing research projects focus on the roles of growth factor receptors and other protein kinases, including pyruvate kinase M2, in regulating cellular signal transduction, which contributes to cancer metabolism and tumor formation (Molecular Cell, 2014, PMID: 24316223; Nature communications, 2014, PMID: 25412762; Cell, 2012, PMID: 22901803; Nature Cell Biology, 2012, PMID: 23178880; Molecular Cell, 2012, PMID: 23123196; Nature, 2011, PMID: 22056988). Cutting-edge technologies will be available.

Applicants must have an excellent first-author publication history and must be highly motivated. A strong background in structure-based high-throughput virtual screening approaches, molecular biology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry is desired. Experience with signal transduction, cell metabolism, stem cells, and transgenic mouse experiments would be a plus. A competitive salary with an excellent compensation and benefits package will be provided.
