The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) is seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow position in the field of synthetic organic/inorganic/organometallic chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at West Virginia University. The researcher’s primary responsibilities will be associated with developing and understanding first-row transition metal catalysts for new C-C bond forming reactions. This work will involve synthetic and mechanistic organic, inorganic, and organometallic chemistry, which requires experience in reaction screening, air-sensitive chemical manipulation, and routine characterization techniques (NMR, IR, UV-Vis, X-ray, GC, etc.). A Ph.D. in inorganic or organic chemistry is required. Successful applicants will have a strong background in one or more of the following: organometallic synthesis, new reaction development, mechanistic study, reaction kinetics.
