Lero – the Irish Software Research Centre is Ireland’s national software research centre, headquartered at the University of Limerick and involving all of Ireland’s seven universities and Dundalk Institute of Technology. Following significant recent direct grant funding in excess of €30m from Science Foundation Ireland and our industry partners, we are seeking to fill a number of positions at University College Dublin.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team of researchers working with the Lero Centre and based in the UCD Natural Computing Research & Applications Group on UCD’s Belfield Campus.

The Postdoctoral Researcher in Semantic Methods for Evolutionary Search Based Software Engineering (B2-01) will work in a team of postdoctoral researchers and PhD students under the supervision of Prof Michael O’Neill (UCD). The goal is to achieve a more rational approach to search based software engineering based on the use of semantics, in particular for software synthesis and improvement. The postdoctoral researcher will require knowledge of evolutionary computation and in particular grammar-based approaches to genetic programming. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in a mentoring capacity for the PhD student.
