摘要:

Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics

A postdoc position in a project to identify new antibody targets in joints of importance for development of arthritis is now open. This position is sponsored by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) for the network JointID “Biomarkers predicting joint inflammation”. It is placed at the Section for Medical Inflammation Research, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden.

The project is led by Prof. Rikard Holmdahl in a project supported by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) in Sweden. The task is to develop multiplex assays for detection of antibodies to defined protein epitopes and to analyze these in both experimental animal models and human samples.

Duties and project
The project aims to identify and analyse new immune target structures in cartilage of importance for development of arthritis. It will be primarily done using mouse models for rheumatoid arthritis. The role of the newly identified epitopes will be tested using genetically tailor-made animal models. Antibody binding as well as T cell activity will be studied in detail in vivo and in vitro. Results will be compared with immune response in human RA. The goal is to identify new epitopes with known functional properties, which will improve diagnosis and understanding of rheumatoid arthritis.

Form of employment
Full-time, 2 years with possibilities for prolongation.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.
