Development and Characterisation of an Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Source for the Deposition of Metallic Films

Description

The INP Greifswald is seeking to recruit a qualified scientist or engineer to support our team in the north-east of Germany, close to the Baltic Sea. The position is funded under an EU-project in Plasma Technology. This full-time position (currently 40 hours per week) is available starting earliest from January 1st 2015 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period ending May 30th 2016, depending on the successful completion of a probation period of 6 months. An extension of the contract period depends on the availability of funds. The salary is based on German labour agreement (TV-L Ost). Field of activity: Focus is the development of plasma sources for the deposition of metallic films under atmospheric pressure. It includes the characterization of the deposited films by several analytics, e.g. SEM, EDX, XPS, XRD or profilometry, as well as diagnostics of plasma by conventional methods. Professional qualification and personal requirements: The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player, eager to join our institute. An excellent doctorate degree in science or engineering is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in atmospheric pressure plasma processes, surface analytics, plasma diagnostics, and good experimental skills. The position further requires good communication, presentation and writing skills. In general candidates should have already accumulated at least 2 years of relevant working experience. The position includes the possibility of a secondment to an academic partner institution within the consortium. Candidates must therefore be willing to move between countries as necessary.
