Position:
The lab of Professor Gaurav Sahay is looking for dynamic, self-motivated individual for a full time postdoctoral scholar in the area of drug delivery and nanomedicine. Our research revolves around the
development of nanotechnology platforms that serve to deliver
therapeutics; of particular interest are nucleic acids for lysosome storage disorders and cancer. We are strongly focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in transport of nanoparticles inside cells in-vitro and in-vivo. The current position requires a strong background in synthesis, characterization and formulation of novel nanomaterial’s, which will complement our existing strengths in cell biology and nucleic acid delivery. We are based in a very collaborative environment and our located at the newly constructed state of the art Collaborative Life Science Building (CLSB) at OSU/OHSU College of Pharmacy in Portland, OR alongside the scenic southwest waterfront. The CLSB houses faculty from OHSU Biomedical Engineering and PSU Chemistry Department, and we actively promote teamwork with pharmacists, chemists, biologists, engineers and clinicians to develop translational nanomedicines.
Qualifications:
PhD degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific field with a significant formulation experience is required. Basic lab experience is also required. A background in nanoparticle synthesis, characterization and fundamental knowledge of cell culture techniques is preferred. Should be comfortable summarizing and reporting results to researchers. Must exhibit a commitment to exceeding quality standards and providing exceptional services, and be committed to producing accurate and high-quality work. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and practiced documentation skills are required. Must possess an awareness of basic safety issues as well as the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
