An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the physiology of nerve cell circuits in the basal ganglia and cortex and the effect of these circuits on behaviour in brain disease. The position is funded by a grant from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment of New Zealand. The position is fixed-term until 30 September 2016 with an immediate start.

The successful applicant will bring established expertise in in vivo electrophysiological recording and behavioural analysis with a high degree of independence.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant biological science with research experience in in vivo cellular electrophysiology. Experience with accompanying histological techniques and operant behaviour is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
