摘要:

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Center for Growth Disorders in the Division of Endocrinology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Drs. Vivian Hwa and Andrew Dauber work closely together to span from the patient to the bench in an attempt to fully understand the impact of novel genetic variants on patient pathophysiology.

The research focus of Vivian Hwa’s laboratory is to investigate the molecular defects that cause severe short stature in children. One area of interest is the growth hormone (GH)-STAT5B-IGF-I signaling cascade. The position involves investigating the specificity of human growth hormone receptor GHR-STAT5B interactions, based on functional properties of natural, pathophysiological GHR and STAT5B variants identified in affected patients. The fellow should be prepared to apply the findings towards generating a humanized mouse model system.
