Position: The Experimental Neuroimaging Laboratory at the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) and Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate interested in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electrophysiology research in small animals. Hands-on experience in 1) small animal fMRI data acquisition and analysis, and 2) in vivo electrophysiology is desirable.
About us: We currently equip a 9.4 Tesla Bruker Biospec scanner for small animal MRI research. Our group focuses on developing and applying fMRI technologies to study neurovascular functions in the rodent brain, with an ultimate goal of translating preclinical indications to successful clinical development. Our current projects include: (i) deep brain stimulation fMRI, optogenetic fMRI, and pharmacogenetic (DREADD) fMRI in normal and Parkinsonian animal models and (ii) high resolution dynamic MRI of stroke and periinfarct spreading depolarization.
