One Postdoctoral Position (2 years) in Mercury Biogeochemistry
Understanding the possible re-activation of high priority contaminants from pulp fibre sediments in the northern Baltic Sea (REACT)

We announce one postdoctoral position to expand our research on mercury biogeochemistry in environments with contaminated pulp fiber sediments. The post doc position is connected to the REACT-project (funded by the Swedish research council Formas) which is a multi-disciplinary project involving scientists in environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry and ecology at Umeå University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The aim of the project is to increase the understanding of possible re-activation of high priority contaminants from pulp fibre sediments in the northern Baltic Sea. Principle objectives of REACT are to advance the understanding of processes for contaminant reactivation, assess future environmental risks and evaluate remediation measures for contaminated sediments.
