摘要:
Postdoctoral Scientist - IRC162774 : London, United Kingdom

Postdoctoral Scientist – IRC162774
Division of Systems Biology
Salary is from £29,448 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

We are offering a 3 year Career Development Fellowship (CDF) which is a training and development position for post-doctoral scientists. Applicants will have recently completed their doctoral studies, are moving into a new research discipline, have limited previous experience of key transferable skills, or are clinically qualified with little or no research experience. A CDF will provide opportunities to develop research project skills and collaborative links with colleagues within the Institute and elsewhere.
This is a CDF position in the Division of Systems Biology working on the analysis of cis-regulatory sequences associated with the control of vertebrate embryogenesis. The post holder will be expected use transgenic approaches in the zebrafish to determine the functional output of putative cis-regulatory elements, to be able to interpret the results in light of current research and also to refine or develop new methodologies where appropriate.
You should have a PhD or equivalent (or be in the final stages of completion) in a relevant area of biology, with practical experience in applying zebrafish transgenic approaches to the study of cis-regulatory sequences. The ability to work on their own initiative is essential.

Informal enquiries can be addressed to: Dr Greg Elgar gelgar@nimr.mrc.ac.uk

The MRC currently runs 2 post-Doctoral Research Schemes. These have slightly different salaries and training elements. Full details of both will be provided to the successful candidate.

Closing date: 5 November 2014
