We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to join the lively research group headed by Drs. Patricia D’Amore and Eric Ng at the Schepens Eye Research Institute (SERI) – Mass. Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be involved in studying both the basic pathobiology as well as potential translational/pre-clinical research of various inflammation-associated neuro-vascular pathologies (AMD, diabetic retinopathy, and atherosclerosis) by generating novel genetic models. He/she will work closely with Dr. Eric Ng and under the supervision of Dr. Patricia D’Amore, and will have access to in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo research models, as well as various research techniques and advanced equipment. The successful candidate is expected to qualify for training grants and fellowships.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in molecular biology and genetic models of vascular diseases. Experience in gene targeting, in vivo models of vascular and ocular diseases, immunology, molecular cloning, micro-dissection, cell culture, histology/immunohistochemistry is desirable.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Working as a leader as well as part of one or more project teams, and remain proficient in designing, managing and performing experiments.
• Collecting and analysing data, and deliver experimental research reports when necessary with guidance from the PIs for collaborative research projects
• With guidance from the PI to produce scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and to present research data in house and in scientific conferences.
• Writing as well as assisting in the preparation of applications for external grants for research and fellowships.
• Assist in general lab organization and maintenance, supply ordering and liaising with infrastructure departments.
