摘要:

The laboratory of Asst Prof Meng How Tan has an opening for a postdoctoral position in synthetic biology. Our overarching goal is to build artificial genetic circuits in microorganisms (bacteria and yeast) for the production of value-added chemicals, food ingredients, and electricity as well as for biosensing and bioremediation applications. We will employ high throughput approaches, such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and bisulfite sequencing, to understand the genomic and transcriptomic landscape when the microbes are cultured in different growth conditions. Subsequently, we will use the knowledge gained from our genomics and transcriptomics experiments to design, build, and test synthetic devices in different microbes.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in the biological sciences and have rich experience in microbiology and genomics. Ideally, he or she should also be familiar with the principles and applications of synthetic biology. In addition, all postdoctoral candidates should have at least one first-author publication in a reputed journal and have demonstrated the ability to work well in a team. We also expect our lab members to be ambitious, self-motivated, and dedicated.

Interested candidates should submit a detailed CV to Asst Prof Meng How Tan (mh.tan at ntu.edu.sg) and a statement of why you are interested in joining our laboratory. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit three reference letters at a later date….
