Job Description

Postdoctoral position in the area of diabetes mellitus and pancreatic islet biology.
The laboratory works primarily on molecular mechanisms of pancreatic islet ß-cell proliferation, signaling and regulation of insulin secretion. We use tissue culture systems and several unique genetically engineered models recently generated in our laboratory. Postdoctoral candidates who are well trained in molecular biology techniques and have a prior publication record are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be willing to generate transgenic mice and work with rodent models.
Mentorship will be offered to develop candidates towards independent investigator status with application for fellowship and independent funding.
Funding situation is excellent with active NIH grants, a diabetes research and training center grant and 2 additional NIH grants to start 2015.
