摘要:
Postdoctoral Fellow : Chicago, IL, United States

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position is available at Loyola University Chicago in the Laboratory of Kim Williamson that combines field and bench research to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying malaria transmission. The primary project extends the laboratory’s identification of P. falciparum gametocyte development 1, Pfgdv1, which is required for gametocyte production and the early gametocyte genes downstream of Pfgdv1 to monitor gametocyte development both in vitro and in vivo. The major goal in collaboration with investigators at Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Ghana is to understand the factors that contribute to gametocyte production in the field. Insights from the field work will also be used to inform our basic in vitro studies on the transition from asexual to sexual differentiation. Together these projects are designed to advance the understanding of host microbe interactions and provide new tools to prevent malaria. In addition to a PhD, experience in cell and molecular biology is required. To apply please submit a Cover letter, CV and list of 3 references.
