摘要:
A postdoc position is available for a highly motivated and independent candidate in the Andersen Group at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. The focus of our research is genomics-/epigenomics-driven translational medicine in primary human liver and hepatobiliary cancers with emphasis on molecular medicine, patient classification and characterization (e.g., tumor heterogeneity), as well as prognostic or predictive biomarker discovery to aid novel therapeutics and clinical efficacy. It is our goal to improve diagnosis, clinical decision-making and ultimately patient outcome through translational and pharmacogenomics discoveries. This is facilitated in our Group via interdisciplinary research as well as a strong international network of scientific and clinical collaborators.

Description

Project The successful candidate will join a research group that utilizes genome-wide technologies and approaches including genomic and epigenomic profiling, NGS and single-cell genomics. We use genomics-driven strategies to characterize and classify patient subgroups to identify oncogenic drivers and addiction networks with the aim of improving diagnostics and treatment. We unite research directly on patient samples and clinicopathological data with basic molecular in vitro and in vivo models. Emphasis will be given to candidates with background in epigenomics (i.e., DNA methylation and non-coding RNAs), including previous experience with hepatobiliary cancers. Start: The position is scheduled to start January 2015. Duration: The appointment is for an initial 3 years with possibility for extension Qualifications We expect you to be a highly motivated and interacting individual with the following skills: • PhD, MD or MD/PhD with experience in Epigenomics/Life Sciences. • A strong background in epigenomics analysis as well as skills in bioinformatics. • Broad experience in cell biology, biochemical and molecular techniques. • Previous experience in liver and/or hepatobiliary cancers is an advantage. • Experience/Interest in interdisciplinary science including in vitro and in vivo research • The candidate is independently able to envision, plan and execute a research project • Ability to function in a collaborative environment is essential. • Excellent communication skills (English). Place of work The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. BRIC is located in the Biocenter, close to the centre of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 22 research groups at BRIC and the neighboring Finsen Laboratory. We have weekly journal clubs, data clubs, seminars with invited speakers and a young researchers club ASAP and our own PhD programme, MoMeD. BRIC actively participates in the European alliance, EU-life consisting of 13 excellent life science research institutions. More on www.eu-life.eu
