Research Associate /Senior Research Associate

 

The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7 or 8. The salary range will be £32,699 – £39,523 (Grade 7) or £40,618 – £47,915 (Grade 8) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

 

UCL and the global pharmaceutical company Eisai have established a strategic alliance for the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of neurodegenerative disease. The successful applicants will play an instrumental role in this on-going collaboration, contributing to the development and execution of project plans to assess the tractability of emerging targets. The appointees will have the unique opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising closely with scientists from across UCL and Eisai to translate UCL research into a pipeline of drug discovery projects.

 

The post is available immediately and funded for three years in the first instance.

 

Applicants must be educated to at least degree level in Biochemistry or a related subject, and should possess a level of experience acquired by postgraduate academic study (e.g. PhD) and/or an equivalent level of industry or academia experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate scientific/technical versatility, as evidenced by hands-on experience in a broad range of molecular and cellular techniques. Research experience in neurodegenerative disease, industrial drug discovery and/or high-throughput screening programs would be an advantage.

 

To be appointed at Grade 8 (Senior Research Associate) candidates must demonstrate significant experience within the field.
