The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow in the field of assessing crop biostimulants for crop growth promotion and soil and plant nutrition within the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Auburn University. The position is a one-year limited term up to a maximum of a four year period. Funding for salary and benefits beyond the one-year period will be an expectation of the Post-Doctoral Fellow.
Responsibilities: This is a 12-month, benefits eligible, non-tenure accruing position. Responsibilities include i. planning and conducting field and greenhouse trials to assess beneficial bacteria and other biostimulants for increasing plant growth; ii. developing and implementing field protocols for assessing how biostimulants affect plant uptake of nutrients; assessing biostimulants for amelioration of abiotic stress in the greenhouse and field; iii. optimizing statistical analysis procedures for in-field screening of biostimulants.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in agronomy, crop sciences, or related discipline and a minimum of three years’ of experience conducting replicated field trials; specific experience conducting field trials with energy crops, cotton, and soybean; experience evaluating treatment effects on biomass and plant nutrient status; experience using mixed model analysis in SAS; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English are required. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin, and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Desired qualifications include independent planning, conducting and evaluating biostimulants for crop growth promotion; and strong analytical and statistical skills as evidenced by teaching experience in statistical analysis and design.
