Salary from £28,132 to £38,907 (pro rata) per annum

A Postdoctoral Research Associate is required to work on an EPSRC funded project involving the design, preparation, characterisation, testing, modelling and optimisation of novel ion exchange materials for use in the nuclear industry.  The post forms part of the DISTINCTIVE (Decommissioning, Immobilisation and Storage soluTIons for NuClear wasTe InVEntories) collaboration between 10 Universities, Sellafield Ltd, the National Nuclear Laboratory and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

The post holder will be required to undertake atomistic modelling of porous inorganic solids to understand and predict ion exchange behaviour. The post-holder will report to Dr Joe Hriljac and Dr Mark Read.

It is essential that Applicants have a PhD in materials chemistry or a related discipline and experience in atomistic modelling that can be used to predict ion exchange behaviour in porous inorganic solids, such as zeolites
