Job Description

The Carter Lab at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in computational genomics and systems biology. Our group is developing novel computational methods to infer biological models from large-scale data. (research.jax.org/faculty/greg_carter.html) This position has a specific focus on understanding the molecular regulation of mammalian meiosis using a variety of genetic and genomic approaches in collaboration with a diverse team of researchers.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in quantitative biology or another quantitative discipline such as computer science, physics, or applied mathematics. Experience in gene expression, DNA binding, and sequence analysis is strongly recommended and applicants must have a commitment to solving biological problems and good communicaiton skills. Experience with scientific programming languages including R, C/C++, Ruby, Perl, or Java is recommended. Expertise in the biology of meiosis is desired but not required.
